The flowers of most of my Primroses planted in the ground are severely damaged by caterpillars and/or slugs. This one with it's striking flower color is an exception.

First flowers on an own Hippeastrum hybrid. The mother plant is a cultivar of the Colibri series, the male parent is the wild species H. blossfeldiae. Six flowers per scape. H. blossfeldiae is very dominant in this cross, but the scape of the hybrid is much shorter. I have pollinated two flowers with Hippeastrelia Durga Pradhan pollen. This is a sister of the plant presented on february 09 (already discarded ).

My Guzmania Hope has twice as many leaves as those sold in the garden center. But the inflorescence is a little small. This is caused by the terrible light situation in mid winter when the inflorescence was growing.
